Full Diagnostic Dyslexia Assessments

£600

A full diagnostic assessment is a detailed and supportive process designed to understand how a young person learns—and where they might need extra help. It looks at the key thinking and learning skills that support reading, writing, and spelling, such as:

  • Memory

  • Processing speed

  • Phonological and visual skills

  • Reading, writing, and spelling attainment

The assessment usually takes around three to four hours, and can be done in one or two sessions, depending on what works best for the individual.

We gather information not just from the assessment itself, but also from parents or carers, teachers, and the young person. This helps us build a full picture of their learning profile—highlighting both strengths and areas of difficulty. The assessment is mapped to the Delphi definition of dyslexia, which recognises that dyslexia is a dimensional difficulty affecting literacy and language-related skills, often alongside challenges in working memory, processing speed, and automaticity.

All our assessors hold a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC), as required by SASC (the SpLD Assessment Standards Committee). This means the report is valid for life and meets the highest professional standards.

The final report is written in a clear, accessible format and includes:

  • A summary of strengths and challenges

  • Practical recommendations for learning and everyday life

  • Support strategies for school, home, and work

  • Guidance for exam arrangements (like extra time)

  • Suggestions for study skills and assistive technology

If your child is in school, this report can support applications for an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Later on, it can also be used to apply for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) at university.

Early Learning Profile

£450

This is a gentle, shorter assessment for children aged 5 to 8 who may be finding some parts of learning tricky. At this age, it’s too early for a full dyslexia diagnosis, but we can still build a helpful picture of how your child learns. We also gather background information from parents and teachers to understand your child’s learning journey so far.

We look at things like tailored to the needs of the child:

  • Memory and attention

  • Processing speed

  • Phonics and early reading

  • Visual and spatial skills

  • Spelling, writing, and reading progress

You’ll receive a summary report with:

  • Key findings from the assessment

  • A clear conclusion

  • Practical recommendations to support learning at home and in school
